Photo Competition
Due to popular demand, we are running our photo competition again for 2016.
There is just one category: ‘The best photograph taken by a guest staying in any of the 3 cottages and within the confines of the surrounding land that is allocated to you for amenity and for your enjoyment’… quite a mouthful that… so let’s just call it: ‘Best holiday photo of 2016 at our place′.
Hint: We do not yet have a picture of the OTTER! It has been seen a lot but does have a hunting range of 8 miles, so it could be anywhere. Keep your camera on you at all times! Hint – best time to catch it is dusk, by the Falls.
The kind of things we are looking for are landscapes, wildlife, flowers, trees and abstract and of course pictures of you enjoying the cottages and the river bank but we won’t limit you. To see what we like (always a help when we’re the judges) check out our Photo Gallery.
You can either email your submissions to us at [email protected] or even better post them on our Facebook page.
Good luck!
By submitting your photo, you are giving us permission to use your photographs on our websites/social media or for subsequent promotion; we may use them to produce postcards or a calendar, for instance. We will credit you though, if required.
Judges decision is final and all that. Competition ends 31st December 2015.
Hey, did we mention, there’s a nifty £50 in it for the winner!
Previous Winners
Winner: Andrew Whitehead 2015
Andrew took this fabulous shot by The Falls and is a worthy winner of the 2015 photo competition.
On hearing that he had won, Andrew remarked “What a lovely surprise – it was difficult not to take a nice picture of the Heron at the Falls (although I have to admit to having about a hundred not quite there attempts in order to get just a couple of good ones).
Well, good one it is and Andrew is being very modest. The eye as well as the expertise resulted in this fantastic shot.
We hope to see you again soon Andrew and thanks for entering our competition.
Winner: Maggie Taylor 2014
Maggie, on hearing she had won, kindly remarked: “I am pleased that you liked it (the photo). How can one not take a great photo; full of inspiration. We have stayed twice now and will no doubt be back again!”
We look forward to having you back Maggie!
Winner: John A. MacInnes 2014
John is actually a bit good at this. He’s a professional landscape photographer and kindly sent us a number of fantastic pictures. You can visit his website and see more of his work at: www.moments-in-time.org.uk.
